Terms & Conditions
Once a booking has been confirmed, a contract has been entered into between the guest and Strathmore Log Chalet. Please read the following carefully.
Booking and Payment - When you submit a booking you will receive a booking confirmation by e-mail. This does not form a contract between us. A contract shall only arise after receipt of payment when your booking is subsequently confirmed by e-mail. A deposit of 1/3 of the full rent is required upon booking, with the balance plus a refundable £50 breakages payable one month before the start of the holiday. Payment can be made by bank transfer or cheque payable to "Grace A Bruce". Full payment is required for a booking taken less than a month before the start of the holiday. Strathmore Log Chalet reserves the right to re-let the accommodation should the balance payment not be received by the due date. Upon inspection and providing there are no damages, the £50 breakages deposit will be promptly refunded.
Cancellation and Insurance - Holiday cancellation insurance is not included in the cost of the rental. For any cancellation Strathmore Log Chalet must be informed immediately. Unless a re-let is obtained, the customer is responsible for the full cost of the let. If the accommodation is re-let at the full rate, a 66% refund will be made, if at a lesser rate a smaller % refund will be made. In all cases the deposit is not refundable. We will do our best to accommodate holiday date changes but if this is not possible then the original booking will still stand.
Arrival and Departure - The period of let shall be from 3pm on the day of arrival until 10am on the day of departure. The chalet keys will be held in a deposit box outside the lodge. Arrival outwith office hours should be prearranged.
Electricity and Heating - Gas LPG heating and hot water are included in the price of the let, electricity is by card meter and these can be purchased in multiples of £10 from site office.
Linen and Towels - All linen is supplied as part of the let. We do not provide towels.
Guest Responsibility - The person(s) named on the booking submission agrees to take full responsibility for ensuring that the conditions of let are adhered to by all members of the party and for the payment of any rental/fees or damage/cleaning costs incurred. The hirer shall at all times keep the hired premises in a clean and tidy condition and shall maintain the property and all fitments, furniture and equipment in a like state of repair and condition as at the time of commencement of the hire. Strathmore Log Chalet reserves the right to inspect the property at any time during the let. Causing a nuisance or disturbance to neighbours or unreasonable behavour/not following the holiday park rules may result in SLC asking guests to leave.
An inventory of equipment and a departure inspection checklist detailing breakage and damage charges is held in the cabin. The hirers agree to pay for any damage caused by them or their party/guests.
Liability - Please note that no responsibility is accepted for any loss, injury or damage arising in any manner out of the let of the premises. At no point shall the party size exceed the chalet rating of 6 persons. It is the responsibility of guests to ensure that when leaving the chalet unattended care will be taken to close all windows, switch off heating and lock the main entrance.
Smoking - Smoking is not permitted at any time within the chalet. If smoking outside guests are kindly requested to safely dispose of cigarette butts.
Pets - Unfortunately, we do not allow pets in our chalet.
Departure - The customer is responsible for the cabin and it's equipment during the period of let. On vacating, the customer is expected to leave the chalet in a clean and tidy condition, washing up and emptying the bins.
Other - Should Strathmore log chalet have to cancel your holiday for any reason a full refund will be made. No further claim against SLC will be considered. The brochure and website are as accurate as possible but cannot be warranted, nor do the descriptions form any contract.
A discount of 10% is available for 2 week bookings.
Good Housekeeping Deposit - A deposit the sum of which shall be agreed in the booking form may be levied. The total sum or part of the sum shall be forfeit should any damage to the property fitments, furniture or equipment occur or should additional cleaning be required. The owner shall be the sole arbiter of the cost of reparation.
Complaints - Every effort has been made to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday at SLC. If however you have cause for complaint it is essential to contact us so the matter can be speedily resolved.
Letting - Weekly lets normally run from Sat to Sat. Minimum 5 night stay during high season..
